Trek announced that it has expanded upon its very popular Stache 29 Plus platform with a dedicated back country touting model dubbed the 1120. The recent resurgence of bike touring was initially driven to a large degree, by fat bikes, which extended the range of adventurists far beyond gravel roads and manicured trails. It was the plus-width tire, however, that melded the fat-bike's ability to roll in almost any conditions and terrain with the speed and efficiency of a more conventional mountain bike.
Trek 1120
Ready for anything:
1120 features a light but durable Alpha Platinum Aluminum frame and all-new carbon fork modeled on Trek’s hugely popular Stache mountain bike platform, with slight adjustments to geometry that ensure a stable ride, even when the bike is loaded down. We have extended Stache’s signature mid-stay (a shortened, elevated chainstay) to provide a slightly longer wheelbase that offers extra stability on rough trails, and the sliding Stranglehold Dropouts also popularized on Stache allow for easily adjustable geometry. Boost hub spacing provides stiffer wheels for more confident handling.
The all-new 1120 expands our adventure line with a bikepacking-oriented platform on mid-fat tires.

Spec'ed for the mountains:
Wide, 29+ SUNringlé Duroc 50 rims support the super-tacky Bontrager Chupacabra 3” tubeless-ready tires. Shimano’s new SLX drivetrain provides an ultra-wide 11-46T gear range, allowing riders to confidently tackle steep climbs while carrying a full load. The Race Face Aeffect crank uses a durable, cinch-type steel chainring, and SRAM Level T brakes with 180mm rotors keep things under control on even the steepest descents. 1120’s trail-ready spec package is rounded out with Bontrager’s Drop Line dropper post and a swept-back Crivitz handlebar that provides a more natural wrist angle for extra comfort on long overland rides.
Carry every essential:
1120 features low touring mounts, and its proprietary rear rack and included bag system allow riders to carry a pair of standard dry bags (8L recommended) low to the ground for optimal handling. The rear rack also allows items like tents or sleeping pads to be secured on top. 1120’s proprietary front rack maximizes usable space between the handlebar and top of the wheel, allowing riders to pack lots of essentials within easy reach. Additionally, triple mounts on each fork leg accept virtually any bolt-on carry solution. Both racks can be removed with four screws, making removal an easy 5-minute job. The 1120 frame also has conventional rack mounts, so that a full-size rack and panniers can be easily installed if the day’s adventure calls for extra storage.1120 is available in one model. It is currently available for purchase throughout Trek’s wide network of retail partners in the United States and Canada. It is available in 15.5˝, 17.5˝, 19.5˝, and 21.5˝ sizes. MSRP $2,499.
