Slash 8 is an enduro mountain bike that's built for pressing the send button again and again. It's built on a high-pivot platform with 170mm or front and rear travel that boosts traction for punchy climb stages and keeps stability a priority when you point it straight down. A mixed setup with a 29˝ front and 27.5˝ rear wheel keep handling playful, and it comes equipped with a Shimano XT drivetrain for clean shifts no matter where you ride.
You want an enduro bike that keeps pedaling efficient on the ups and slays on the downs. The added traction from a high-pivot bike is appealing, but the stability on descents is really what takes the cake. Versatility is up your alley, and you love being able to walk the line between fast-rolling 29ers and nimble 27.5 wheels.
An Alpha Platinum Aluminum frame with high pivot suspension and idler pulley, plus internal storage. 170mm of front and rear travel with a FOX Rhythm 36 fork with Float EVOL air spring and GRIP damper, and a Fox Performance Float X shock.. Plenty of gears for punchy climbs with a Shimano XT drivetrain, a Bontrager Line Dropper, and a MX wheel setup with 29in front and 27.5in rear Bontrager Line Comp 30 Tubeless Ready wheels with Rapid Drive hub.
Slash 8 is ready to party on enduro days with long travel, serious traction, and stability for days. It packs in value and performance with a FOX suspension package and Shimano XT shifting.
Impressive
This is without doubt the most efficient high-pivot idler bike I’ve pedalled. While the travel is plush, there’s good support so you can pop and pump down the trail, with a lively and light ride character, while still remaining stable and composed when the trails get rough. Trek has shown what's possible here and it's impressive

Slash's high main pivot allows the axle to move rearward as the suspension compresses, so the back wheel moves with the force from bumps and gets out of the way faster. On the trail, it feels ultra-smooth while maintaining more momentum with insane traction.
Slash's oversized upper idler not only eliminates the pedal kickback caused by high pivot, but its size and position also give you just the right amount of anti-squat for efficient pedaling. The lower idler takes chain tension off the derailleur so you get smoother shifting and suspension performance.
Slash's storage door is bigger, easier to use, and the plastic parts are all made from recycled materials.
Adjust leverage rate with just a flip of a chip. Ride it in the Less progressive setting for a plusher feel perfect for rugged trails with square-edge bumps. Flip it to More progressive when you're hitting big features and don’t want to bottom-out, or when you want to run a coil shock.
Size-specific chainstays provide balanced handling to keep the ride nimble for smaller riders and improve front wheel traction on climbs for taller riders.
A meticulously engineered chainstay guard reduces chain movement for a blissfully quiet ride while the removable downtube guards fend off rock strikes.
